SAFE Credit Union is encouraging teens to apply for $1,000 scholarships.
The credit union, with 21 branches in the greater Sacramento area, will award the scholarships to 10 college-bound high school seniors.
Winners are chosen based on grade-point averages, financial need, community involvement and a personal statement.
